2013 INITIATIVE: MONOPOLY!

Christ Lutheran Church is focused on Living Life Abundantly in 2013. As part of this theme, we invite you to join us in memorizing some key Bible verses, all of which focus on living life with Generosity, Grace, & Gratitude.

WHY MEMORIZE?

Memorization of Scripture is one way of "taking charge" of the contents of our conscious thoughts, and of the feelings, beliefs, and actions that depend on them.  ~Dallas Willard

CURRENT VERSE: Mark 6:31 He said to them, "Come away  to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.

New verses are introduced about every two weeks. Once you have memorized a verse, please write your name on a Monopoly house and tack it to our big map outside the Sanctuary. Throughout the year, we will be able to see our map fill up as our congregation explores the Bible's teachings on Living Life Abundantly.

 Out to Lunch Movie Bunch

Are you a movie buff that has a running list of films you'd like to see in the theater?  Do you enjoy a little lunch out with friends every now and again? We invite you to be part of CLC’s Out to Lunch Movie Bunch. Once a month we'll scour the movie listings and pick a film to see. We'll plan to have lunch to catch up a bit before heading to the theater.  We'll meet the fourth Wednesday of each month. Stay tuned for more information regarding the film title and lunch location and times.  Please contact Cindy Kramer to add your name and email address to the mailing list so we can keep you up to date on the times and locations.  If you don't use email, leave your number and Cindy will call you with the details.  Also, keep your eye out in the church bulletin announcements a week in advance for details.

The Dorcas Circle meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm in the homes of the members. All are welcome to join us in Bible study and Christian fellowship. Please call the church office for details regarding who is hosting for the given month.

Christ Lutheran Men's Book Club

All men of the church and community are welcome to be part of the CLC Men’s Book Club. We meet monthly on the third Monday of each month at  7 pm to discuss a book. While some of the books we read are more “theological” than others, the goal is that through our conversation about any of the books we grow in our understanding of ourselves, the world and God. Come when you are able, or come every month. Most of the books we read are available through the local libraries and book stores. See Dave Olson for more information.
