“Serving in God’s World with Love” Sunday, September 13

Click here for a video message from Bishop Eaton

Sign up at church or call the office!

Christ Lutheran has a number of opportunities for service!

Get “on mission” by giving some time weekly/monthly/occasionally to help CLC serve in God’s world with love. Listed below are just a few ways...

Prayer and Baptism Shawls

Throughout the year we offer prayer shawls to those in the hospital and Baptism shawls to every child baptized at CLC. These shawls, knitted and crocheted by CLC members, offer warmth, welcome, and comfort in some of life’s most joyous and difficult times.  We are in need of  more shawls. If you are someone you know would be willing to dedicate some time and yarn to this ministry, that would be much appreciated. There are patterns available in the Health and Wellness office. Call the church office for more information.

Visiting Nursing Home Residents and Home Bound

We are looking for a few people willing to visit some of the members of CLC who are currently in the nursing home or are home bound. If you have never done this before, be assured that the most important thing is your presence. You will never know the difference you make in the lives of those in nursing homes and those home bound, and what a difference they can make in you. See Pastor Joel for more information.

Nursery on Sunday Mornings

We are looking for adult and high school and Jr. high school students to volunteer in our nursery during our 9:45 service starting in September. We are hoping to have at least one adult or two Jr. or Sr. high youth volunteer each Sunday. See the signup sheet on the kiosk in the Nyman Center. The nursery is primarily for children 3 and under.

Prayer Chain

When prayer requests come in, we send them out to people who are willing to add these special prayer requests to their daily prayer life. If you would like to be added to the Prayer Chain, or if you have a special prayer request that you would like to have added to the prayer chain, please email the church office.

Thrivent Choice

If you are a qualifying member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans you may now choose Christ Lutheran in Marine on St. Croix as a beneficiary of your Thrivent Choice Dollars.

What are Choice Dollars?

Eligible Thrivent members can direct Thrivent Choice Dollars to the Lutheran charity of their choice (including Christ in Marine on Saint Croix) Eligibility for Choice Dollars is based on a benefit member's insurance premiums, account values and volunteer leadership. Most eligible benefit members will be able to direct between $25 and $100, and some may be able to direct as much as $500. Thrivent will notify members of the amount they are eligible to direct. When you choose Christ Lutheran, Thrivent will send the donation– no additional paperwork is necessary!

Call 1-800-THRIVENT (800-847-4836) and state "Thrivent Choice” when prompted or go to www.thrivent.com and look for the “Thrivent Choice” icon.

Once there search in Minnesota at Marine on Saint Croix (not Marine on St. Croix). If you search only in MN there are over 50 Christ Lutheran’s, scroll through until you find Christ Lutheran Marine on Saint Croix. Once selected make sure you also select Christ Lutheran in Marine on Saint Croix as the recurring recipient of your choice dollars to maximize your impact at Christ Lutheran. Call the church office if you need more direction or instruction.

CLC Quilters

Our CLC Quilters donate an average of 50 quilts a year!

That's amazing for a group of women who gather only twice a month.

The Quilters meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 9:00 a.m.

New people are always welcome and you don’t need any previous experience.  All the quilts they put together are given away to local and global mission organizations.

CLC Community Garden

The garden is producing! We are looking for people who are willing to adopt one week during the summer to help tend the garden by watering, weeding, and harvesting. See the signup sheet on the kiosk in the Nyman Center for ways you can help this Summer & Fall. All the produce from the garden is given to the local food shelves.
